Case Study - UX Copywriting and Compliance (downloadable here)
This case study is a write up of a situation where the TD compliance team came back to me and the Blueprint team with serious concerns over copy content, as well as some misunderstandings as to the content teams authority and role at TD. Fortunately, good faith efforts resolved the relevant issues.
1 week before Christmas holidays, I had received a rejection and feedback on a piece of copy that was thought by the product owners and content team to be “in the bag”. My content manager and I had to come up with an immediate plan
We organized an all-hands meeting with representatives from content, design and the product owners, who stood in for the marketing team that originally issued the copy mandate. The compliance rep was also there. We addressed the issues directly in Figma with a lo-res wireframe.
After some attention from higher management, we were able to resolve the issues to the satisfaction of everyone involved. The only downside was that the sprint had to be pushed back to the new year. I communicated that to the web development team, who made the appropriate Jira story adjustments.
